T In The Park - Biggest And Best
Roll up! Roll up! Make way for Scotland’s biggest and best music festival. Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together for the one and only T in the Park.
Over the years Balado’s haven of mud and music has played host to the likes of Green Day, Rage Against the Machine, REM, Kings of Leon and Lady Gaga. At a glance this year’s line-up seems a bit mediocre, especially in contrast with Leeds’ spectacular headliners, but in reality T has gone all out to bring the biggest and most legendary names to the stage making us festival-goers very happy campers.
The obvious big name to check out is the king of rap himself. Eminem is the top act playing the main stage on Saturday night and anyone with a bit of sense won’t pass up the opportunity to see him. Making his way back onto the UK music scene with new album Recovery, the Real Slim Shady is an absolute must-see for everyone, even those who aren’t his biggest fans.
Another band that the smart festival-goer should check out is Florence and the Machine. When the lovely Florence Welch took to the Futures stage last year she praised the crowd before downing vodka from a fan in the front row. The performance was legendary and now with several awards under her belt the red-headed beauty is someone you definitely can’t afford to miss.
Florence and the Machine won the BRIT’s Critic’s Choice award in 2009. This year it was presented to Ellie Goulding, a blonde-haired song writer from Hereford. Since winning this award the spotlight has been following her everywhere and luckily she’s going to be playing at this year’s T in the Park. Now this kind of act is probably something a lot of people would avoid. Many of us party animals would rather be dancing in the Slam Tent or rocking it up to bigger acts like Biffy Clyro or the Prodigy but Ellie’s unique brand of music is relaxing; something you can just kick back to. If you find yourself looking for something a bit different then head on up to King Tuts on Sunday and check her out. You won’t regret it.
SP not to be missed: Eminem – he won’t be back on these shores for a while
