Second Year Blues
Feeling down you’re not one of the new ‘uns? Wishing you could go back to getting away with missing most of your lectures? Almost missing that permanent hung-over feeling? Never fear, here are eight reasons why second year can sometimes be better!
- First of all, second year is not that much harder than first year! It’s not skiving but you’re not in honours years’ yet so wohoo!
- You’ve moved out of student halls! Sure, you met loads of ‘totally awesome’ people last year but are you really going to miss the terrible food? Plus, you’re moving in with folk you actually like now and don’t have to go through the bother of making new friends all over again!
- You know all the best clubs. You’re not going to have numerous nights out that end up in skanky pubs filled with 60 year olds.
- You also know all the places with student discounts and have the benefit of the StudentPunch.com deals pages.
- You don’t feel totally lost. For instance, you know where Uni is and what course you are actually doing… You might even feel like you know a thing or two about *Insert your degree course here*.
- You’ve figured out how to cook and how to use the washing machine. Enough said. If you haven’t learnt to cook yet you can with Feed The Flat.
- Your new city is starting to feel more like home now. Awww.
- And finally, you’ve learnt to avoid the 7p noodles in Tesco, which is probably the most important thing a student could learn!
So bring on re-fresher’s week and embrace second year!
