INmusic - Foreign Festival of The Year

StudentPunch - A Mix of Everything Student! - INmusic - Foreign Festival of The Year

INmusic1How about a festival beside a lake with horse riding, hot Europeans, a fabulous capital within a tram journey, excursions, minigolf, Arcade Fire and Jamiroquai all for under £85 including 6 days camping?

Not possible? Wrong!

That’s exactly what T-Mobile INMusic on Lake Jarun in Zagreb is offering. A great alternative festival that is relatively untouched by the UK festivaling-abroad crowd and still offering a great line up, while being something a bit more special than living drab field somewhere in the UK.

InMusic is now in its 6th year and is going from strength to strength. This year the fesitval will open its doors to over 60,000 music lovers on Lake Jarun. It is only a short journey from Zagreb airport which itself is serviced by air routes from across the UK. (Flying Easyjet from Gatwick is just over £100 return)

The current undisputed kings and queens of alternative music, Arcade Fire, will headline the festival as part of their European tour and will no doubt be a big draw to anyone with even a smidgen of musical taste. But there are plenty of other well established acts to tickle your fancy, including the forever youthful Jamiroquai, the soon to be no more The Streets and American heavyweights, and general bad influences, Cypress Hill. Sprinkled throughout these household names are plenty of local acts you won’t have heard of, unless you’re an aficionado of the Croatian music scene, but they might just surprise you.

When you consider the cost, easy to get to location, acts performing and the ability to offer not just a festival but a holiday, it’s easy to see why INMusic has a burgeoning reputation and will no doubt start to attract more and more of the UK festivaling-abroad crowd over the coming years. So be a trendsetter and get in early and book yourself a trip to Zagreb for June 21 - 22nd for what could end up being the Foreign Festival of The Year.

Top Tip: Book yourself a flight to the coast for after the festival and enjoy the stunning Croatian coastline and cities like Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik. (Flights from Zagreb to Zadar start at just £35)
