New Year, New Strategy
alcoholLet’s face it; the main thing on any student's mind during the holidays and the beginning of the new semester is how much alcohol they can bin and still crawl to university the next day. Needless to say, the drink and the takeaways are the main cause of that sudden weight gain that creeps up on you by the third week. If you’ve kept up your new year diet then good for you. However, for the majority of the student population, who just can’t be arsed, here are some tips on keeping your alcoholic calorie intake down so you can keep your waists trim and your glasses full well into the New Year.

sexualfoodFrom the ancient Greeks to the Elizabethans, from Chaucer to Shakespeare,  from the Middle East to the USA,  men and women have searched for the key to good sex, and have found it—in food.  Ancient Greeks celebrated the yearly fig crop with a full-fledged orgy, nineteenth century bridegrooms were served three courses of asparagus before entering their nuptial chamber, and chocolate was even banned from some monasteries centuries ago for its aphrodisiac powers.

Ingredients

Butter

Milk

Flour

Macaroni Pasta (or other suitable pasta)

Cheese (ideally cheddar)

Steps

  1. Melt a good-sized amount of butter in a pan, around a scrap of a spatula amount. Add two or three-heaped spoon full’s of plain flour into the butter and mix until it starts to look crumble.
  2. Place your pasta on a medium to high heat with a pinch of salt, or a little bit of olive oil.
  3. Start adding your milk into the flour and butter mix. The amount of milk you add is up to yourself and depends on how thick you want your sauce. Add your milk slowly and work it into the mix. This stops your sauce from becoming lumpy.
  4. When your sauce is a texture you like drain your pasta and put the two together. Sprinkle with cheese to complete.

Tip: some people like to bake Macaroni and Cheese in the oven, this adds a nice crisp to the top.
