Cute Is What We Aim For - Same Old Blood....
Floppy hair, long fringes, skinny jeans and big pouts. Aside from that you have, well you have a long name that begs the question “why?” and an album of cliché lyrics, heart ache that couldn’t be further from genuine and yet another group of guys who need to go home and man up.
I’m not sure what Fueled By Ramen were thinking when they signed these guys, and apparently neither did they as they later dropped the band from the label. Trying to avoid “emo-bashing” as much as possible, despite the fact this album simply screams at me to tear it apart, they have to be given credit for their ability to make thirteen year old girls swoon….don’t they?
To be honest I would only recommend this album if you needed discs to throw under the wheels of a long-haul lorry, or to decorate your walls with, shiny side up. The album just falls to pieces from the word go. Airy- fairy lyrics with no sense of real direction, washed out, ripped off guitar including what seems to be very little awareness of how to actually play. The singer, whilst managing to keep in tune, is generic and could be any number of other men I see at clubs all the time. Basically, what I’m saying is, if you want music in the background purely to focus it out, go with this CD, otherwise run away from it, arms flailing.
For fans of music that makes your eyes bleed really.
